The life of an IT guy: Squiggly lines

As I’ve gone through life as an IT guy, I’ve seen many strange issues and helped many users. Today I want to share one of those experiences, and maybe continue doing these as I have time. Today’s issue is a Microsoft Word issue with a very nice user.

The user called me up, because Word was displaying strange markings and she couldn’t figure out why they were there and/or what was going on.

I rush over to her desk in a flash hoping to be dumbfounded by some strange occurrence that I had never seen before. I get there, and see no issues. This is when she exclaimed: “They are right there, those red and green squiggly lines! Make them go away!!”.

I tried to explain that the “squiggly lines”, as she so eloquently put it, was a feature to show her the mistakes she had made in her document. This is when she informed me, of what will be my closing statement to this post:

“I don’t make mistakes, so this ‘feature’ as you call it, is obviously broken.”

Demon King Daimao OP (opening)

Demon King Daimao is one of my favorite anime of all time. Especially since I bought the Blu Ray recently. It’s such a great work of art, IMO. All I have to say is: Peter-MotherFuckin’-Hausen is one of the most epic characters to exist in my short array of anime series watched. Click here to see what I have seen/have not seen.

Since I’ve been watching the Blu Ray, I thought it only appropriate to upload the OP. Enjoy! Also, “Googa”!

Rukia doing the Don Kanonji laugh

One reason that I enjoy Rukia so much is her ability to be silly, and then serious in the next scene. She really plays her part well, as a comedic break. This video in particular is where she is mimic’ing the Don Kanonji laugh.

I had to share, as I enjoyed it so much that I use an avatar from it:

I hope you enjoy!

Rukia Kuchiki figure

Meet Rukia Kuchiki from Bleach. Rukia is my first anime figure, and I joyfully picked her up at Otakon. Rukia is actually my favorite anime character, and that’s one of the reasons I couldn’t help but purchase her, when I found her.

I decided to take some pictures of Rukia, and give a small description of her as a figure. My pictures aren’t near as good as Otakudan (Check him out if you haven’t already), but I tried with my Canon EOS Rebel Xti. I was surprised how great her quality was. The texture isn’t like any other “figures or toys” that I’ve held before. It felt like actual cloth she was wearing instead of plastic. She also has a hefty weight.

She came with extra hands, a mini Kon, her Shikai, her zanpakutō, and the sheath. She is fully articulating, and was worth the $45, I picked her up for. Since this is my first purchase, I don’t have shelves like a few people I know … So for now, she guards my alarm clock. My mini and life size Kon keep her company.

I will definitely be picking up more.

Enjoy!

2011 Otakon haul

May I present to you my haul from Otakon 2010.

I think my favorite purchase so far has been Kon. He’s been hanging out with me everywhere except work, of course. He’s been scouting for the sweet, sweet embrace of Orihime! (Heaven at last) :D

I also can’t wait to fully setup my Edward Elric cosplay, or my first figure – Rukia. I’ll make sure to make more detailed posts soon. The FMA cosplay pieces I did get from Otakon:

  • Red Jacket
  • Pants
  • Gloves
  • Undershirt
  • Black Jacket
  • Pocket Watch – Ebay (today)

I still have to build an auto mail arm, get a wig, and get some black boots. I’m 3/4 there to having my first cosplay for the next con!

There’s another thing that I got that won’t fit on this bed … A lifetime of memories. I can’t wait for next year! I will make another post tonight or tomorrow on my thoughts of Otakon including pictures.

EDIT – It’s not 2010 – It’s 2011!!!
